Flying to Israel — No Plane Required!
As the school year wound down and classrooms were buzzing with activity, we dedicated a special week to Eretz Yisrael.
0ur preschoolers embarked on an exciting immersive journey—without ever leaving school! “Israel Week” was a celebration of our love and connection to Eretz Yisrael.
The excitement began the moment the children arrived at school and stepped into our transformed entrance: an airport terminal, ready to take off for Israel! Each child received their very own passport, stamped daily as they traveled through a week full of hands-on activities.
🛫 Monday: Wheels up! We kicked off our journey by decorating our passports and boarding a “flight” to Israel. The kids boarded our very own CMCH “airplane”, complete with rows of seats, flight announcements, and our teachers dressed as pilots and flight attendants. Smiles and laughter filled the room as we took off on this exciting adventure together.
🗺️ Tuesday: Mapping Israel! Students worked together to build a large map of Israel, identifying and labeling major cities and landmarks. It was a hands-on geography lesson that helped them visualize the land. They also had the chance to prepare and taste Israeli salad, chopping fresh vegetables and enjoying a healthy, flavorful snack.
🧱 Wednesday: The Kotel Experience! On Day 3, the children learned about the Kotel, one of the most special places in Israel. They explored its history and meaning. Each child then wrote a short note or prayer and gently placed it into our “Kotel”. To end the day with something tasty, they also prepared their own chummus—measuring, mixing, and sampling this Israeli dish.
🍊 Thursday: Orange Grove Fun! We explored one of Israel’s well-known exports by squeezing fresh orange juice. It was a simple but sensory-rich experience—bright, zesty, and satisfying!
🎶 Friday: Israeli Music and Dance! We wrapped up the week with a lively Israeli music dance party!
