Celebrating Israel Week & Yom HaAtzmaut

A few weeks ago, CMCH transformed into a journey through Eretz Yisrael as we celebrated Israel Week leading up to Yom HaAtzmaut! Inspired by an immersive “travel to Israel” theme, the children arrived each day ready to explore, create, taste, sing, and learn about the beauty and uniqueness of Israel.

Our front entrance became an airport terminal, complete with passports for each child to stamp throughout the week as they “traveled” across Israel. The children boarded pretend flights, explored maps of Israel, visited a replica of the Kotel, and even placed personal prayers into the wall.

The week was filled with hands-on experiences that brought Israeli culture to life. The children prepared Israeli salad, made fresh hummus, squeezed oranges for “Israeli-style” juice, and ended the week dancing and singing to Israeli music together. The Busy Bees even created their own shuk, bringing the energy and excitement of an Israeli marketplace into their classroom!

Most importantly, the week was woven with conversations about our connection to Eretz Yisrael, Jewish pride, and the joy of celebrating our homeland together.
