The Story of Our Year

As we look back on the 2025–2026 school year, it is hard to believe just how much life, learning, laughter, and growth fit within ten short months.

From the very first week of school, our PTA helped set the tone for a year filled with warmth, community, and connection. The lemonade stand was the perfect welcome back treat!

This year was filled with the sounds that make CMCH feel like home: the cheerful hum of children arriving each morning, the sweet melodies of davening drifting through the hallways, the joyful squeals from the playground, and the familiar smell of fresh pizza filling the building each Friday as we prepared to welcome Shabbos together.

We watched new friendships blossom in classroom corners and on playground swings. We celebrated first days of school, first lessons, first successes, and countless moments of growth. We welcomed new families into our community and celebrated the arrival of new siblings. We watched children transform before our eyes, growing in confidence, independence, kindness, and curiosity with each passing month.

The cheers were loud, the races were spirited, and the memories were priceless. Sports Day with Dad brought our community together for a day of fun and connection.

Together, we journeyed through the rhythm of the Jewish year. We welcomed the sweetness of Rosh Hashanah, celebrated Purim with joy and generosity, prepared for Pesach through our model seders, gathered around Morah Na'Imah's roaring Lag BaOmer bonfire, and counted each day of the Omer as we prepared to receive the Torah on Shavuos.

Throughout the year, Yiddishkeit wasn't something reserved for special occasions… it was woven into the fabric of each day. It could be found in the sounds of morning davening, the excitement of learning a new possuk, the pride of performing a mitzvah, the melodies of Jewish songs echoing through the hallways, and the countless conversations about Hashem's world that emerged naturally through the children's work and discoveries.

Our classrooms were alive with wonder. Children planted gardens and eagerly checked on their growing plants, created beautiful works of art, explored nature, practiced grace and courtesy, and discovered the joy of learning through hands-on exploration. They developed the confidence and independence that are hallmarks of a Montessori education while strengthening their connection to Torah, mitzvos, and the unique role each Jewish child plays in bringing light into the world.

Our Reading Tree blossomed all week long as students proudly added leaves for every book they read. Watching it grow was a beautiful reminder that readers grow, too!

And then there were the moments that can never quite be captured in a calendar.

The enthusiastic dads who transformed into "coaches" during Sports Day with Dad. The laughter that erupted during potato sack races. The excitement of Israel Week adventures. The delight of selecting the perfect book at the Book Fair and sipping miniature cups of hot chocolate while turning its pages. The wonder of Mother's Tea. The excitement of Pizza in the Playground. The smiles, surprises, and celebrations that filled our hallways all year long.

We also had the privilege of celebrating the incredible adults who make our school so special. During Teacher Appreciation Week, families showered our staff with kindness, generosity, and gratitude (who could forget that pasta cart?!)

Sweet berries, sweet memories, and sweet moments together. Our jam-making activity gave mothers and children the opportunity to celebrate the many blessings Hashem provides while creating something special side-by-side.

Most importantly, we witnessed countless moments that often go unnoticed but mean everything: a child helping a friend zip a coat, a classmate offering words of encouragement, a teacher kneeling beside a child with patience and care, a group of children working together to solve a problem, and the daily giggles that echoed through our hallways. These are the moments that define a school year. They are the moments when Torah values come to life, friendships are formed, confidence is built, and children begin to discover the unique gifts Hashem has given them.

As we close the chapter on another remarkable year, we are filled with gratitude for the opportunity to learn, grow, celebrate, and build community together. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your family's story and for entrusting us with your most precious treasures.

What a year it has been.

And what a joy it has been to share it with your family!
