A Note from Dassie’s Desk: Reflections for Rosh Hashanah

Dear Parents,

As we approach Rosh Hashanah—a time of reflection and renewal—we pause to appreciate the gift of Teshuva. This season reminds us that each of us has the opportunity to return, to grow, and to do better.

At CMCH, we bring this same spirit into our work with your children. Just as we encourage each child to grow in their own unique way, we also look inward as individuals and as an institution, striving to improve and make changes so that we can offer the children our very best.

The four names of the holiday give us perspective on how to begin the year on the right foot:

  • Rosh Hashanah – The Head of the Year. A chance for fresh beginnings. We don’t carry negativity from previous years—we start anew with positivity and our eyes on the future.

  • Yom HaDin – The Day of Judgment. Hashem is the Judge. Our role is to encourage, to give the benefit of the doubt, and to support those who are struggling, leaving judgment in G-d’s hands.

  • Yom HaZikaron – The Day of Remembrance. Hashem remembers every individual—no one falls through the cracks. On this day, our potential is brought into reality. May we, too, ensure that every child in our school feels seen, heard, and supported.

  • Yom Teruah – The Day of the Shofar. The sound of the shofar is our heartfelt cry to connect with Hashem, our King. May we also hear the call of connection that our children long for each day, and may we answer with love, presence, and care.

May this new year bring you and your family good health, joy, Nachas, and blessings in abundance—all in a good and humble way.

Shana Tova,
Dassie
