Shabbat Party

Every Friday, we celebrate Shabbat with a special program and party in each classroom — a highlight of the week for our students! Together, we sing Shabbat songs, light the candles, make Kiddush, and enjoy challah, grape juice, and a special treat.

Each class has an Ima (Shabbat “mom”) and an Aba (Shabbat “dad”) who help lead the blessings and songs alongside the teachers, making the experience extra special for their classmates.

NEW THIS YEAR: All Shabbat Party items will be provided by CMCH! When you sign up, an automatic charge of $20 will be applied to your account during the month of your child’s Shabbat party day. There’s nothing more for you to do - besides join us on the day of if you would like!

Flower Arrangements

As part of the Montessori curriculum, students arrange flowers provided by families every week. Flower arranging helps children exercise motor skills (pouring water into a funnel, using scissors to cut the stems of the flowers, inserting stems into the vase with care), build a sense of symmetry, practice decision-making, and develop voluntary movement.

Mystery Reader

Our mystery reader program happens once a week for primary-age classrooms. The week's mystery reader starts with their camera off on a zoom call, provides three clues about themselves, and the children guess who it could be. From there, the guest turns on the camera to surprise their loved one in the room. The guest is then asked to read a book or give a presentation for the class. We have had guests from all over the world teaching the children about their country, their language, etc. We encourage extended family members and family friends to participate!
