From Princesses to Police Officers: Purim at CMCH
Purim brought an extra dose of joy and excitement to our halls this year as our school celebrated with a lively and colorful Purim Carnival. From the moment the children arrived in their creative costumes to the final carnival games of the day, the school was filled with laughter, imagination, and festive Adar energy.
Costumes Everywhere
The excitement began the moment the children arrived at school. Hallways were filled with a delightful parade of costumes… princesses, police officers, superheroes, animals, and more! Each child proudly showed off their costume, and it was clear that the imagination and enthusiasm of Purim had fully taken over the school.
Purim is often called the most playful Jewish holiday for children, and dressing up is one of its most beloved traditions. Costumes reflect the theme of hidden identities in the Purim story and add to the festive, carnival-like atmosphere that makes the day so special.
Carnival Fun
After the morning excitement, the celebration continued with our Purim Carnival, where classrooms and shared spaces were transformed into lively stations filled with games, activities, and treats.
Children moved from activity to activity with big smiles… playing games, collecting prizes, enjoying festive snacks, and celebrating together with friends and teachers. Purim carnivals are a beloved tradition in many Jewish schools and communities, creating a joyful environment where children can celebrate the holiday through play, creativity, and shared experiences.
The laughter, cheering, and happy energy throughout the building truly captured the spirit of the holiday.
Celebrating Together
More than anything, the Purim Carnival was a beautiful reminder of what makes our community so special. Watching the children laugh, play, and celebrate together was the highlight of the day.
Purim teaches us about courage, joy, and the power of community… and this celebration reflected all of those values. We are so grateful to everyone who helped make the day such a success and for the opportunity to create these joyful memories with our students.
It was truly a Purim to remember!
