A Week of La Dolce Vita: Celebrating Our Morahs
At Chaya Mushka Children’s House, Teacher Appreciation Week is always something special, but this year our community truly went above and beyond.
With the theme “La Dolce Vita,” the sweet life, our PTA created a beautiful Italian inspired week of gratitude for the incredible educators who nurture, guide, and care for our children each day. From café style mornings to sweet treats delivered right to classrooms, every detail reflected the love our community has for our morahs.
Before anything else, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our Teacher Appreciation Chairs, Sara Goorevitch and Chama Wolf, whose creativity, organization, and care brought this entire week to life. Their thoughtful planning ensured that our teachers felt celebrated in meaningful ways each day.
Throughout the week, teachers were reminded how deeply appreciated they are, not only by the school leadership but by the families whose children they care for each day.
One of the most meaningful moments of the week was a surprise video compilation created by our parent community. Families submitted short clips of their children sharing what they love most about their morahs, and the messages were compiled into a beautiful tribute for the teachers. Hearing the children’s heartfelt words was incredibly moving and a powerful reminder of the impact our teachers have each day.

Tuesday: Mercato
Special thank you to our Tuesday chairs:
Nechamie Kessler and Chanie Reyder
On Tuesday, teachers visited a charming Italian style market filled with ingredients for a delicious pasta dinner at home. They “shopped” for artisanal pasta, sauces, olive oils, herbs, and other goodies, bringing a little taste of Italy back to their kitchens.
A special thank you as well to Aron Reyder for schlepping the pasta market cart that helped bring the Mercato experience to life.
Wednesday: Cannoli Cart
Special thank you to our Wednesday chair:
Leetal Shubaev
Midweek brought a surprise pick me up as a cannoli cart rolled through the halls, delivering mini cannoli and drinks right to the classrooms. The smiles said it all. Sometimes the smallest gestures make the biggest impact.
Thursday: Trattoria Lunch
Special thank you to our Thursday chairs:
Lee Garfunkel, Chaya Lipszyc, Chana Levine, and Brochi Wolf

Special thank you to our Friday chairs:

To wrap up the week, students visited a flower market and selected a stem to gift their teachers, a small but heartfelt thank you from the children themselves. Watching students proudly present flowers to their morahs was a beautiful reminder of the relationships that make our school so special.
We are also grateful to The Groner Family and The Meyerowitz Family for sponsoring prizes that added even more joy to the celebration.
A Community Built on Appreciation
At CMCH, we know that a school is only as strong as the people within it. Our teachers show up each day with patience, dedication, warmth, and love for every child in their care.
This week was a beautiful reminder that our community sees that and appreciates it deeply.
