Introducing: Morah Miri’s Curriculum Corner
Hi CMCH families! I’m so excited to welcome you to my new little corner of CMCH Highlights! This year, I’ve stepped into the role of Curriculum Coordinator, which gives me the special opportunity to work alongside our Morahs and support the thoughtful, joyful learning happening throughout CMCH.
One of my favorite parts of this role is getting to see what’s happening across all of our classrooms, and now I get to share a little bit of that with you, too! In each edition of Highlights, I’ll pop in here to give you a peek at what the children are learning, exploring, singing, creating, and experiencing.
So, parents, keep an eye on this space in future editions. I’m looking forward to sharing lots more with you throughout the year!
What We’ve Been Learning This Week:
Our Little Chickadees had fun using apples as stamps to create beautiful works of art!
These past two weeks, the children at CMCH have been busy settling into their classrooms and getting comfortable with their new routines. Each child is being lovingly guided by our Morahs as they learn the rhythms and responsibilities of their classroom.
Our upstairs Toddler classrooms jumped right into the spirit of Rosh Hashanah, learning all about the apple; its shape, color, and taste! The children enjoyed hands-on experiences like washing apples and even painting with them.

Our Caterpillar classes made special crowns for the King in the Field, connecting to the idea that during the month of Elul, Hashem is especially close to us.
In our Primary classes, the children have been learning about Elul and how this special month is a time to come closer to Hashem. They learned two songs that help bring the message of Elul to life:
אני לדודי ודודי לי
I love Hashem and Hashem loves me,
In Elul, we blow the shofar to remind us that Hashem is near.
תשובה, תפילה, צדקה
In Elul, we do these things:
We turn to Hashem and daven and give to a fellow Jew.
